Firm History

Our firm has a long history in York Region, and a reputation as one of the more successful family firms in the area. Our name and staff have changed over the years, but our dedication to our clients has remained the same.

1998

Heather McGee and Laura Fryer (as they then were) created McGee & Fryer. Their dedication to family law, their compassion and skill made their reputation grow. They were joined by dedicated lawyers and staff, working together to provide legal excellence.

2008

Cheryl Williams joined the firm after working at other distinguished boutique family firms in Toronto.

2009

Justice Heather McGee was appointed to the Superior Court of Justice, Family Court Branch in Newmarket. This is in recognition of her reputation and skill as a fair and compassionate family lawyer. The firm became Fryer & Associates.

2014

The firm became Fryer & Williams when Cheryl Williams became full partner.

2015

Justice Laura Fryer was appointed to the Superior Court of Justice, Family Court Branch in Oshawa. The firm became Williams Family Lawyers.
